My name is Dan Steinmiller. What’s yours?

I’m a video game development grad turned web developer with a main focus on front-end technology and experiences. I’m the one who builds your website visuals!

Now, you may not group those two industries together very often in conversation, but I would. A website can be just as visually stunning and engaging with the right touch. Add a bit of gamification and UX flow here and there and now users are really enjoying themselves.

Having over 7 years of professional agency experience I’ve carved a niche being the intermediary mind between designers and back-end developers that can effectively communicate to, and understand the perspectives of, both disciplines. A sort of glue so to speak.

I love the collaborative process of working with others to effectively take a concept from start to finish. Geeking out over animation timing or trying to process how to make a mind bending design element fully responsive, for example, is my sweet spot. I talk way too much to designers about how something will have to be built to achieve their vision and they’re surely amused by it.

But, hey, I also enjoy being front facing to clients as well and help explain complicated topics in an easy to understand way. I’m the one they tend to throw into meetings to be the development communicator. I may not always have all the answers, but I try to ask all the right questions.
